Making Text Size Bigger on Your Phone

Step-by-step instructions to make the words on your iPhone or Android phone larger and easier to read.

Squinting is optional! Both iPhone and Android let you make text bigger across the whole phone in under a minute.

iPhone

  1. Open Settings (the gray gear icon).
  2. Tap Display & Brightness, then Text Size.
  3. Drag the slider to the right until the text is comfortable.
  4. Want it even bigger? Go to Settings → Accessibility → Display & Text Size → Larger Text, and turn on Larger Accessibility Sizes.
  5. Tip Bold Text is on the same Display & Text Size screen and makes letters thicker.

Android (Google Pixel and most phones)

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Display (on some phones, Accessibility).
  3. Tap Display size and text (or Font size).
  4. Move the Font size slider to the right. You can also enlarge Display size to make buttons and icons bigger.
